NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) – A Brooklyn lady was once pepper-sprayed whilst seeking to get a divorce a battle at the subway.
Christina Garcia Brown was once on her technique to a health care provider’s appointment Thursday morning when the northbound A educate she was once using stopped on the High Street subway station in Brooklyn and she or he heard a battle.
“The guy kept stopping the train from moving, he kept physically putting his feet in the doorway, pulling the doors open, so the train didn’t move. So he was insistent on coming back in the train to do harm to these young men,” she informed CBS2’s Jenna DeAngelis.
The mom of six stated she couldn’t simply stand through.
“If something happens to my husband, to my kids, to my grandkids, I would want somebody to jump in,” she stated.
So she did, and ended up getting pepper-sprayed through the suspect.
“I got the brunt of it and from that point, I was coughing, I couldn’t stop coughing, I couldn’t breathe,” she stated.
Sources stated one different individual suffered neck and again accidents from the stampede the incident brought about.
The suspect, who police known as 24-year-old David Dennis, was once arrested. Sources stated he was once ranting about celebrities.
During the incident, police deemed the station against the law scene, keeping up educate site visitors for approximately 90 mins right through rush hour.
“Yes, it caused some inconvenience as far as the people that were on the train getting to where they need to go. I get that, because I was one of those people. However, it could have been a lot worse,” stated Brown.
She stated police did the entirety they had to do to stay passengers secure.
The New York City Transit president was once vocal in announcing police will have to no longer cling up the trains this lengthy. An MTA spokesperson stated they are going to be operating with police to toughen the method.
