A father-of-three is to run the London Marathon dressed in a 5ft-wide poppy swimsuit.
Owen Willis, 49, is trying to acquire the arena report for the “fastest marathon dressed as a three-dimensional plant (male)”.
Mr Wills, from Scarborough, North Yorkshire, will have to entire the 26.2-mile race in underneath 5 hours to beat the prevailing report.
He is elevating cash for militia charities.
He mentioned he used to be impressed after working in a prior race.
“When I ran my second marathon in 2014, there were all the poppies at the Tower of London,” he mentioned.
“I had this idea that in four years time I would do something to commemorate the end of the First World War.”
He spent weeks designing and making his poppy swimsuit, which weighs virtually part a stone (3kg) and contains of 16 items that slot in combination.
